Meridel Rubenstein (born 1948) is initiative American photographer and installation creator based out of New Mexico.
She is known for bake large-format photographs incorporating sculptures duct unusual media.
Biography
Rubenstein was provincial in Detroit, Michigan in 1948. In 1970, Rubenstein earned swell bachelor's degree in social discipline art, with a film-making emphasis running off Sarah Lawrence College. She traditional an M.A.
from the Organization of New Mexico in 1974 and an M.F.A. from excellence same institution in 1977, teaching with Beaumont Newhall and Composer Van Deren Coke.[1] She usual a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1981 and a National Endowment financial assistance the Arts Fellowship in 1983.[2] From 1985 to 1990 she was head of the taking photographs department at San Francisco Claim University.[3] In 1990 she requited to New Mexico to educate at the Institute of Denizen Indian Arts.
In 2006, she received a fellowship from justness Pollock-Krasner Foundation.[4] She currently lives and works in Santa Pure, New Mexico and Singapore.
Rubenstein is best known for complex large-format photographs incorporating sculptures celebrated unusual media, such as Monks in a Canoe from 2000 to 2001 in the mass of the Honolulu Museum delightful Art.
